Luna, a 27-year-old fashion illustrator living in a cozy Chelsea apartment in New York City, has rebuilt, or at least is trying to do so, her life after a dark chapter in her past. Her best friend Anna has been by her side since Luna was 19 and first moved to the big city. Anna is a supportive and loving character who accepts all of Luna’s sides.
After a tumultuous new adult life, Luna craves to find love, and it seems that it has just happened as she met Dan, a bartender living in the city in search of his own path, rebelling against his wealthy Upper East Side family. But when Luna’s ex-boyfriend Lucas reappears unexpectedly, the stability she has worked so hard to regain is thrown into turmoil. As Luna tries to move forward with Dan, doubts creep in, and the wounds of her past begin to resurface, forcing her to confront her vulnerability and the unresolved trauma she has long buried. As her life spirals out of control, Luna realizes that external love may not be the answer to her healing. Desperate for closure, she reaches out to her estranged parents, initiating a reunion after over ten years of silence. This emotional journey leads her to face the truth that the love she is searching for might not come from another person, but from within herself. In the process, Luna learns the importance of self-love, forgiveness, and accepting her past as part of her growth. The book is a heartfelt and deeply emotional story that explores the complexity of relationships, the power of self-worth, and the journey toward healing.
It’s not a typical tale of love or soulmates, but a real-life path, with childhood trauma, family issues, betrayal, and inner shadows that threaten to swallow Luna throughout her path. Her life is a continuous quest leading her to the place where she is always meant to be.
